We keep your water clean, fish healthy, and pond equipment running right across Los Angeles and the Valley.
At Pacific Pond and Aquarium, pond maintenance is one of the core services we provide for homeowners, commercial properties, apartment communities, and professionals across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Since 2000, we have helped customers keep their ponds clean, balanced, and enjoyable year-round. A well-maintained pond does more than look good. It supports fish health, protects equipment, improves water quality, and helps prevent expensive problems before they start.
We provide hands-on pond care for many types of water features, including koi ponds, goldfish ponds, decorative ponds, ecosystem ponds, and larger landscape ponds. Every pond is different, so we tailor our service to the size of the pond, fish load, filtration system, plant growth, sun exposure, and overall condition. Some ponds need light routine upkeep. Others need deeper cleaning, algae control, filter service, and water quality correction. Our job is to understand what your pond needs and keep it working the way it should.
Our pond maintenance service is designed to cover the full health of the pond, not just the surface appearance. During regular service visits, we inspect and care for the main parts that affect pond performance and water clarity.
Many pond problems start small. A little debris buildup, reduced water flow, or a neglected filter can turn into cloudy water, algae blooms, bad odors, sick fish, or equipment damage. Regular pond maintenance helps stop these issues early. It also saves time and money compared with waiting until the pond is heavily neglected.
When a pond is maintained on a routine schedule, the water is usually easier to manage, the fish are less stressed, and the whole system runs more efficiently. Pumps and filters last longer when they are cleaned and monitored properly. Fish also benefit from a more stable environment, especially in koi ponds and ponds with higher fish populations.
Over the years, we have seen just about every pond issue in the field. Our maintenance service often helps correct and reduce problems such as:
In many cases, we can spot the root cause of these problems quickly because we have been working on ponds throughout the area since 2000. That experience matters when you want the issue handled the right way instead of guessing with store-bought treatments that do not solve the real problem.
For many customers, the best solution is scheduled ongoing pond maintenance. Routine service helps keep the pond consistently clean and reduces the chance of major cleanouts or emergency repairs. Depending on the pond, this may include weekly, biweekly, or other recurring service intervals. We can recommend a maintenance plan based on the pond's size, fish load, filtration setup, and how much debris the pond collects.
Ongoing care is especially helpful for customers who want to enjoy their pond without having to handle filter cleaning, algae treatment, fish monitoring, and general upkeep on their own. It is also a smart choice for commercial properties and apartment communities where the pond needs to stay attractive for tenants, visitors, and guests.
Koi ponds and fish ponds require more than simple cleaning. Fish health depends on water quality, oxygen levels, circulation, and biological balance. During maintenance visits, we pay close attention to the condition of the pond environment and how it may affect the fish. If we see signs of stress, poor water conditions, or equipment issues that could harm the fish, we address them as part of the service visit or recommend the next step.
We understand that many customers are deeply attached to their koi and pond fish. Others simply want a healthy, attractive pond without worrying about the technical side. We work with both types of customers. Our goal is to make sure your pond is cared for in a practical, professional way that protects your investment and gives you peace of mind.
We provide pond maintenance for private homes, office properties, retail settings, apartment complexes, and other commercial spaces. Residential customers often call us because they want to enjoy a clean backyard pond without the mess and hassle of routine upkeep. Commercial clients rely on us to keep their water features presentable, safe, and functioning properly.
A clean, well-maintained pond adds value to a property and creates a more relaxing environment. On the other hand, a neglected pond can quickly become an eyesore. We help property owners avoid that problem with dependable service and clear communication.
At Pacific Pond and Aquarium, we are not new to this work. We have been serving the Los Angeles area and the San Fernando Valley since 2000. That means decades of real experience with pond systems, filtration equipment, fish care concerns, algae issues, and seasonal maintenance needs. We know how local weather, heat, debris, and water conditions can affect ponds in Southern California, and we use that experience to provide practical service that gets results.
Customers choose us because we are professional, reliable, and friendly. We show up ready to work, we treat your property with care, and we focus on long-term pond health instead of quick fixes. Whether your pond needs regular maintenance, help getting back under control, or professional eyes on an ongoing problem, we are here to help.
If any of these issues sound familiar, professional pond maintenance can make a big difference. In many cases, regular service restores appearance, improves water conditions, and reduces the stress of trying to manage everything on your own.
If you want a cleaner, healthier, and easier-to-manage pond, we are ready to help. Pacific Pond and Aquarium provides trusted pond maintenance throughout Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. We bring years of hands-on experience, dependable service, and a practical approach to every pond we care for.
Contact us today to schedule pond maintenance or discuss an ongoing service plan. We will help you protect your fish, your equipment, and the beauty of your pond.
We start with a call or site visit to inspect your pond, filtration system, pumps, water clarity, fish load, and algae levels. Then we recommend a maintenance plan with a clear scope, service frequency, and realistic timeline based on your pond’s size, condition, and goals.
On service day, we clean skimmers and filters, remove debris, check pumps, and treat water as needed to support healthy fish and balanced water conditions. We work carefully to protect your koi, plants, and beneficial bacteria while improving circulation, clarity, and overall pond performance.
Before we leave, we test key water conditions, confirm equipment is running properly, and review any findings with you in plain language. We also note seasonal needs and next steps, so your pond stays clean, stable, and enjoyable between visits with reliable support from our team.
Here are the questions we hear most often from homeowners, property managers, and business owners who want a cleaner, healthier, better-looking pond without the stress of doing it all themselves.

Thirty years ago I built a garden railway for my children (and me of course) to enjoy. The central feature of the railway was a small pond and waterfall. As my children grew up and developed other interests, they lost interest in the train. They played less and less with the train and it eventually was abandoned. The pond and waterfall suffered a similar fate and eventually all I had was a big hole on the ground that would occasionally fill up with rain water and mosquitoes. Flash forward to Spring 2026 when I decided to bring the railroad back to life. The first step, however, was to bring the pond and waterfall back from years of neglect. That is where Andrew and his team at Pacific Pond and Aquarium stepped in. I had previously contacted other pond contractors and TBH, I was not too comfortable with their suggested course of action. But the first time that I talked to Andrew I knew that he was the guy for the job. No BS, no nonsense, no upselling, just an honest assessment of the situation and a workable plan of action—and a fair and reasonable price. The work took several days to complete because the old pond was a mess, but at the end I had what I wanted. Andrew, Alex and Kaileb all worked very hard to get my pond and waterfall back in shape. And I am very pleased with the results. There had been a couple of incidents, involving raccoons and a careless contractor (not from Pacific Aquarium) but Andrew responded to these emergencies and got things working again. I am writing this review while out in the garden, enjoying the enchanting sound of falling water. The railroad will be restored over the course of this summer. In the meantime, I am enjoying my “new” water feature. So, If you are looking to fix up an existing water feature or are thinking of adding a water feature to your home or business, call Andrew, you will be glad you did
Highly recommend Pacific Pond and Aquarium for your aquatic habitats. The owner, Andrew, is hands on, quick to respond and runs his company efficiently. His employees are kind and hard working. The fees are very reasonable and they understand customer service. As an owner of my own business, I appreciate their professionalism, knowledge and workmanship. Pacific Pond deserves 10 stars!
Kaelib did a great job. The pond came out perfect. He went above and beyond. Couldn’t be happier.
Protect your fish, restore clear water, and enjoy a healthier pond without the stress.
