We fix leaks, pumps, and damaged pond systems so you can enjoy clear water and healthy fish again.
At Pacific Pond and Aquarium, pond repair is one of the most important services we provide. A damaged pond does more than look bad. It can waste water, stress your fish, damage equipment, and turn a peaceful feature into a constant problem. We have been repairing ponds across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley since 2000, and we know how to find the source of the issue and fix it the right way.
Every pond repair job starts with a careful evaluation. Some problems are easy to spot, like a torn liner, a leaking waterfall, cracked plumbing, or a pump that stopped working. Other issues take more time to diagnose. Water loss can come from evaporation, splash-out, plumbing leaks, settling, poor construction, clogged filtration, or worn-out parts. We inspect the full system so we can identify the real cause before recommending repairs.
We handle many types of pond problems for homeowners, commercial properties, apartment communities, and other clients. Our pond repair service may include:
One of the most common calls we get is for a pond that is losing water. Not every pond leak is caused by the liner. In many cases, the problem is in the waterfall, filter, skimmer, plumbing, or the way water is flowing through the system. We check all of these areas during our inspection. If needed, we isolate sections of the pond and circulation system to narrow down the problem. This helps us avoid guesswork and save our customers time and money.
We also look for water escaping over pond edges, behind waterfall stone, through loose fittings, or from damaged flex pipe and PVC connections. Small leaks can become major issues over time, especially when they cause soil erosion, high water bills, or pump damage from low water levels. Fast repair can protect both the pond and the equipment.
If your pond liner is punctured, brittle, slipping, or no longer sealing correctly, we can assess whether a targeted repair or full liner replacement makes the most sense. We work carefully to preserve what is working and only recommend bigger repairs when they are truly needed. If the plumbing is the problem, we repair or replace damaged lines, fittings, check valves, and other components that affect performance.
We also repair parts of the pond structure that may be causing problems, including shifting rock, loose edging, poorly supported waterfall sections, and areas where age or settling has changed the original water flow. Structural issues can lead to repeated leaks and poor circulation if they are not corrected properly.
Your pond depends on reliable equipment to stay clear, clean, and healthy. If a pump is underperforming, clogged, noisy, or completely failed, we inspect the unit and the connected system to determine the best solution. In some cases, a repair is enough. In others, replacement is the smarter long-term choice. We can also address skimmers, filters, UV clarifiers, aeration components, and circulation problems that are hurting water quality.
When equipment is not working as it should, the signs often show up fast. You may notice cloudy water, algae growth, debris buildup, low waterfall flow, poor oxygen levels, or stressed fish. Our goal is to restore proper function so your pond is easier to maintain and more enjoyable to own.
We understand that many of our customers care deeply about their koi and pond fish. We do too. When repairs affect the pond environment, we take steps to protect fish and preserve water quality whenever possible. That includes planning repairs carefully, minimizing stress, and using fish-safe methods and materials. If a repair requires draining part or all of the pond, we explain the process clearly so you know what to expect.
It is a good idea to call for pond repair if you notice any of the following:
These signs usually do not get better on their own. The sooner we inspect the pond, the more likely it is we can prevent bigger damage and higher repair costs.
We believe pond repair should be honest, practical, and focused on long-term results. We do not just patch symptoms and leave. We look at how the full pond system works together, from water flow and filtration to liner condition and fish health. That allows us to make repairs that solve the real problem and help prevent repeat issues.
Because we have served the Los Angeles area and San Fernando Valley since 2000, we have worked on many pond styles, sizes, and system types. We repair backyard koi ponds, decorative water gardens, pondless features, and larger systems at apartment communities and commercial properties. Whether your pond was professionally built or has been modified over time, we can help diagnose the issue and restore it.
Customers choose us because we are experienced, reliable, and easy to work with. We show up ready to inspect the problem, explain what we find in plain language, and recommend repair options based on what your pond actually needs. Our focus is always on quality work, clear communication, and respectful service.
If your pond is leaking, losing flow, or not working the way it should, do not wait for the problem to get worse. Contact Pacific Pond and Aquarium to schedule a pond repair evaluation. We are here to help you protect your fish, your equipment, and your investment, and get your pond back to looking and working its best.
We start with a detailed on-site pond inspection to find the true cause of leaks, pump failure, liner damage, plumbing issues, or water loss. After we assess the condition of the pond, equipment, and fish safety concerns, we give you a clear repair plan and honest estimate, usually during the same visit or within 24 hours.
Once approved, we schedule your pond repair at a convenient time and complete the work using proven methods and quality parts made for long-term performance. We repair liners, faulty plumbing, pumps, filters, waterfalls, and drainage issues while keeping disruption low and taking extra care to protect fish, plants, and surrounding landscaping.
After repairs are complete, we test water flow, circulation, filtration, and overall system function to make sure everything is working as it should. We clean the work area, review the repair with you, answer questions, and share simple maintenance tips so you can enjoy a healthy, reliable pond with confidence.

Thirty years ago I built a garden railway for my children (and me of course) to enjoy. The central feature of the railway was a small pond and waterfall. As my children grew up and developed other interests, they lost interest in the train. They played less and less with the train and it eventually was abandoned. The pond and waterfall suffered a similar fate and eventually all I had was a big hole on the ground that would occasionally fill up with rain water and mosquitoes. Flash forward to Spring 2026 when I decided to bring the railroad back to life. The first step, however, was to bring the pond and waterfall back from years of neglect. That is where Andrew and his team at Pacific Pond and Aquarium stepped in. I had previously contacted other pond contractors and TBH, I was not too comfortable with their suggested course of action. But the first time that I talked to Andrew I knew that he was the guy for the job. No BS, no nonsense, no upselling, just an honest assessment of the situation and a workable plan of action—and a fair and reasonable price. The work took several days to complete because the old pond was a mess, but at the end I had what I wanted. Andrew, Alex and Kaileb all worked very hard to get my pond and waterfall back in shape. And I am very pleased with the results. There had been a couple of incidents, involving raccoons and a careless contractor (not from Pacific Aquarium) but Andrew responded to these emergencies and got things working again. I am writing this review while out in the garden, enjoying the enchanting sound of falling water. The railroad will be restored over the course of this summer. In the meantime, I am enjoying my “new” water feature. So, If you are looking to fix up an existing water feature or are thinking of adding a water feature to your home or business, call Andrew, you will be glad you did
Highly recommend Pacific Pond and Aquarium for your aquatic habitats. The owner, Andrew, is hands on, quick to respond and runs his company efficiently. His employees are kind and hard working. The fees are very reasonable and they understand customer service. As an owner of my own business, I appreciate their professionalism, knowledge and workmanship. Pacific Pond deserves 10 stars!
